Example operation: People First Center, Fort Cavazos, Texas
The People First Center is a premier installation-level program focused on investing in our people. The Center certifies leaders on the fundamentals of engaged leadership and is a platform for immersive collective training aimed at building the competencies that create cohesive teams, reinforce trust, and generate lethality. The Soldier for Life, Onward Ops team at Fort Cavazos is hosted in the People First Center.

Soldier for Life, Onward Ops participants are connected to their selected destination communities and matched with a local Sponsor if they want one. Transitioning Soldiers that have Sponsors benefit from personal relationships that reduce transition and relocation stress and increase the potential for achieving the best possible outcomes.
Enlistment, retention and transition are all waypoints in the Army experience. Whether in four years or forty, we all leave the Service. The Transition Assistance Program (TAP) is a Commander's Program and a Soldier's responsibility. The Soldier for Life, Onward Ops program and platform supports TAP and facilitates connections to destination communities across the country.
